Work is Dignity
People with disabilities are capable of working.
We are enabling opportunities for skill-building, independence and fulfillment.

Eat Well Do Good is the first local non-government agency that will work with businesses to offer grants and funding for paid employees with disabilities.
Work is Community
Eat Well Do Good integrates people with disabilities into communities through inclusive programing, designed to focus on capabilities. Communities are impacted positively and community members can get involved in various ways.
Work is Provision
Participants receive an authentic work experience that encourages independence and helps them reach their goals, and families see their loved ones thriving.
Eat Well Do Good works to:
- Hire mentors and employees at fair wages; some employees grow into mentor roles over time
- Educate businesses about the mission and value
- Educate parents/family of those with disabilities on ability to work
- Start people with disabilities working earlier in life
- Raise money to employ and provide grant money to businesses to minimize employer risk

What our participants are saying
I loved working at LEK as a part of my school program. I liked learning new things such as how to update the website with new menus and creating food labels. I got to help with food prep too. Working with Aaron and Mandy made learning fun!
- Emily, student
I know that Emily just loved working at Lake Effect Kitchen because she comes home every day and shares all the details of her day with me. She gained confidence in her ability to do new things and the chance to be more independent. Her experience there gave her truly valuable real-life job experience.
- Amy, parent
Having a job that pays makes a huge difference!! Not only does it give them a sense of pride, but it helps them be able to live more independently, have some spending money and gain valuable experience and skills!
- Faith Avery, CETS & Social Coach, Social Incites
I like working at Lake Effect Kitchen. They are nice to me and I like joking around with Aaron. I like working where people care about me and I like earning money by working too.
- Michael Hepworth, LEK employee
Providing work experiences for individuals with disabilities has helped develop a deep sense of pride and purpose in life for all that participate. It provides real life skills that transfer to all areas of their lives. This has led to more independent lives being lived and a more satisfying walk through life. It builds community and friendships that continue beyond their work and provides a greater social circle.
- Jeff Troupe, GHAPS teacher
